Pace and performance is what matters – in Motorsports as well as in IT security. A common ground to start from; G DATA supports the Ducati team as a technical partner. In the FIM-motorbike street championship the best of the best compete against each other. As an IT security expert G DATA backs the Ducati factory team during all races of the MotoGP.
Security all along the line: on the track, in the pit and on the servers. G DATA powers the Ducati Corse with unerring antivirus engines – so the team can concentrate on what they do best: building strong motors. Since the beginning of MotoGP in 2002 Ducati´s 1000cm3-motorbike Desmonsedeci won 31 races. G DATA’s award winning security software keeps the Ducati team running strong.
The Ducati pit box contains a smart data center along with the latest innovations: Great sportive success in MotoGP is based on an enormous engineering effort as well as on the technical know-how of the software experts. The servers in the pit box process several hundred megabytes of motor data and measurements. Espionage and manipulation of data can become a major problem – and can put the drivers in severe danger. So the safety on the track involves the security of the servers and computers in the pit box. G DATA assures the racing systems are protected so the Ducati team can focus on the win.
Part of Ducati´s success is the complex IT system, that facilitates all races and developments. Modern motorbikes are equipped with lots of sensors, which measure exact data and transmit these via Wi-Fi to the laptops of the engineers. The experts along the track analyze and supervise the fuel consumption, engine performance and other critical data. This data is needed for the planning of the fuel stage, the pit stops and the whole racing strategy, and the accuracy of these measurements can determine victory or defeat. G DATA supports Ducati with technical expertise to keep the wheels turning perfectly.
Security and speed with charisma: The two Italians Andrea Dovizioso and Andrea Iannone start for Ducati in the MotoGP class – both with a Ducati Desmonsedeci.
Andrea Iannone joined the Ducati team in 2013 and wears the number 29. In his career, he made it onto the winners´ podium 27 times in total, 12 times he claimed the first place. He characterizes himself as crazy and down to earth at the same time. The back of his Dainese combination is marked by the writing “The Maniac”. In contrast, he declares towards a German newspaper: "I am a very precise driver and a neat freak. What ever I do, I do thoroughly up to the smallest detail – almost like a German."
Andrea Dovizioso is considered to be a tactical and very analytical driver. His considerate manner of driving led him to ten Grand Prix victories. Since 2013 Dovizioso is part of the Ducati team. 2001, only 15 years old, he became European Champion in the 125-cm3-class and won a wild card for his very first race for the motorcycle world championship. Dovizioso´s idol is the former motorbike pro Kevin Schwantz, who became famous for his fierce driving style. As an homage to Schwantz Dovizioso wore the number 34 for several years. At the moment he starts with the number 4.
